About

Camp-in-Daigua is a unique program designed for campers that are entering kindergarten this fall through 8th grade. We have many camp activities throughout the day to keep your camper entertained and learning new skills! Our director and pastor have over 50 years of collective camp experience and have started three other day camps across the country!

What sets Camp-in-Daigua apart from all of the
other camp choices in the region?

  1. Small Camper to Counselor Ratio—we strive to keep our numbers between 8-10 campers per individual counselor so that each child can get the individualized attention they need to have a great day at camp!
  2. Our camp offers both before and after care and our after care runs all the way until 6 p.m. allowing more time for you each day.
  3. We offer 7 full weeks of day camp!
  4. We offer flexible scheduling to meet your family’s needs. We have before/after care, full week, half week and day rates available as well as several half -day options for the youngest campers. We also offer a drop-in rate with no pre-registration needed. Show up, pay the fees, fill out forms and head on to your day. Think your little one might not be up for a whole day? Half-day rates also available. Drop-in availability is subject to program space and staffing needs. Please call ahead before you bring your child (children) to camp for drop-in.
  5. Our meal program is also fantastic! We offer a hot lunch program available daily as well as a canteen (snack bar) and camp store called our Swag Shop. Meal and canteen packages can be found on page 6!

Why did we start Camp-in-Daigua?

Camp-in-Daigua is a community outreach of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church to our community that provides a safe, Christ-centered, loving place for campers to come, make friends and have lots of fun each day!

Our director and pastor collectively have over 45 years of camp experience! They have worked at day camps, overnight camps, retreat centers, on state-wide youth teams and have planned retreats, programs and started several day camps across the country. With them leading the way, they train up counselors in working with youth in innovative ways and offer a unparalleled experience for your camper(s). Give us a chance- you won’t be disappointed!

Sample Daily Camp-In-Daigua Schedule

7:30 a.m. -9:00 a.m. Before Care
9:00 a.m.—4:00 p.m. Camp Day
This includes a daily campfire with lessons and songs, morning snack (included in fees), large group games, arts and crafts, meal time (bring your own or buy hot lunch), water fun (weather-permitting), canteen/snack, indoor group games, and much more!

4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. After Care

Every day we will play different games. We will engage the campers in new songs, skits, and group activities that will teach your camper interpersonal skills and give them a variety of activities to grow their skillsets. We believe in giving each camper time to grow and we also encourage independent and small group play as they learn. Campers have time to create new games, learn new activities and spend time engaging in imaginative play- something many schools no longer include in their curriculum.
